Advanced Laser Welding Services (Pulsed and CW Systems)
Precise, distortion-free welding at speeds up to eight times faster than conventional methods.
"Concentrating the thermal energy removes sheet warping and eliminates post-weld rework."
Concentrated thermal energy: eliminating warping and post-weld rework
With the commissioning of its advanced laser beam welding line, Spike has established a new standard in industrial metal joining. By concentrating high-density thermal energy onto a spot under 1 mm across, our pulsed and continuous wave (CW) systems produce clean, non-contact welds. The principal technical advantage of laser welding lies in its microscopic heat-affected zone (HAZ), at most 0.03 mm. Because the parent material and filler melt rapidly and locally without heating the surrounding substrate, the process eliminates thermal warping and residual stress. The result is a deep, narrow joint with a clean bead and no spatter.
Engineering advantages of laser welding
An extremely fast joining process that raises production line output by up to eight times compared with conventional TIG (argon) welding.
Extreme focus produces a microscopic HAZ of at most 0.03 mm. This makes it possible to weld cleanly next to heat-sensitive materials such as plastics or electronic boards.
A very narrow bead geometry with multi-layer penetration capability, leaving no spatter, burrs or shop-floor contamination.
Joins everything from 0.03 mm components to heavy structures. The system readily welds parts of dissimilar thickness without introducing any warping.
